ACC recognizes that race is a social and political construct and not a physiological one. We understand that social and structural factors generate a variety of health issues (ie stress, hypertension, diabetes, heart failure, etc) in the populations that we provide anesthesia care for.
ACC addresses the above disparities by assuring that ACC physicians, and staff, are as culturally diverse as the Bay Area population we serve. We are fluent in English, Spanish, Hindi, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Tagalog. We work to identify, and correct, our explicit, and implicit, biases so that we may provide the best anesthesia care possible. ACC actively develops anesthesia protocols that take into account the patient, their medical condition, the surgeon, and the procedure in order to create the best post-operative course possible.
